Welcome to

St. Gerard Majella

"St. Gerard fosters the loving family of God through Evangelization, Catechesis, Sacraments, Service, and Support so that we may be transformed by our encounter with Christ"

Knowing and Loving God

Although we acknowledge God and profess our belief in God as the most fundamental affirmation of our faith (CCC 199), we also acknowledge that, as human beings, our knowledge of God is limited, as is our ability to speak about God (CCC 40). The language that we use to talk about God is limited and imperfect: “our human words always fall short of the mystery of God” (CCC 42). Nevertheless, we continue to try to express the inexpressible, comprehend the incomprehensible, see that which cannot be seen, and grasp that which cannot be grasped. (CCC 42).
